Faithful Living

We believe changed lives are at the heart of God's message to all. At Second Avenue UMC there are a number of ways to experience living faithfully and thereby live out changed lives. For any teams you may be interested in getting involved with, please contact the church office to get in touch with the team leader.

Witness/Outreach - This ministry team focuses on meeting, loving, and relating to our neighbors in meaningful ways. We attempt to share Christ through meaningful relationships.

Prayer Team - Prayer is the cornerstone of what we are about. This group meets regularly to lift up concerns and joys of the church, along with faithfulness to God's vision for our lives.

Spiritual Growth Opportunities - For adults, we share together on Sunday mornings with a number of CORE classes that we encourage everyone to take. At any given time there are other electives for individuals to be engaged in. Each class runs on a 7 week cycle. Please refer to the message board for a list of current classes. We also have nursery opportunities, and spiritual growth opportunities for all kids ages K-12th grade.

Disciple Bible Studies - Comprehensive Bible studies running 32 weeks of the year. These classes begin in the fall and run through the end of the following spring. Classes exist for a complete Bible overview as well as specified Biblical books.

Mission Trip - Each year we focus on a week-long mission trip where we live together in community while working on various work projects. We attempt to put faithful living into direct practice as we live in community together.

Vision Team - This team looks not only at the current ministries of the church, but also prayerfully considers where the church needs to go in the future. This team spends time imagining all the ways we can open ourselves to God's movement among us and how to make the dreams for the future a reality. Faithfulness to Christ is the overriding factor in all vision discussion and brainstorming.
